Why We're Different

Introducing the Thrifty Sisters!
Hi, everyone!  We're the Thrifty Sisters, and we love shopping for bargains!  After many years of shopping with our bargain-savvy mom, and many more years of shopping for ourselves, we consider ourselves to be bargain-shopping experts, and we're ready to share what we have learned.

We have toyed with the idea of starting a bargain blog for awhile now but we were worried that with plenty of awesome blogs out there already, we wouldn't have much to add.  Why start a blog that is just a repeat of a hundred other blogs floating around out there?  But recently, as we've been faithfully following our deal blogs, there have been a couple of things that have bothered us.  In particular, we've noticed that not all the "deals" posted are really that great.  (In fact, on several occasions, we've emailed each other almost simultaneously about how unimpressive a so-called "good deal" on one of our favorite blogs actually was.)

How is the average reader supposed to know the difference between a not-to-be-missed deal, and something that’s just a reasonable price?  We find it extremely disappointing when we think we’ve found an awesome deal and then find out we could have gotten it even cheaper the next week.  Because shopping joy doesn’t come just from taking that coveted item home from the store; it comes from knowing that you paid the lowest price possible for the item!

While it’s great that there are so many sources out there to aid people in finding great bargains, we don’t think a person can maximize their savings unless they understand how to seek out those savings on their own, and how to be educated about the “deals” they’re taking advantage of.  So hopefully that’s what this blog will do.  Our posts will focus mainly on strategies for becoming a master bargain shopper.  However, we will also post some of our favorite deals that we would hate for readers to miss out on. If you have a topic you’d like some advice on, please send us a message!

Happy (Bargain) Shopping!
